1. Who we are

EduVentureSpace.com ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website and platform available at eduventurespace.com. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this service.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, and authentication credentials managed through Clerk, Inc.
  • Profile data: educational background, study interests, preferred locations, career goals, and similar information you provide during onboarding or profile editing.
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, interaction signals, and session metadata collected through PostHog analytics.
  • Payment data: subscription and billing information processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store payment card numbers.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, and referral URL collected automatically when you use the platform.

3. How we use your data

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate you securely.
  • To generate personalised career and education path recommendations using our AI system.
  • To process subscription payments and manage your plan.
  • To improve the platform through aggregate analytics (PostHog data is processed under a data-processing agreement).
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription receipts). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

  • Contract performance – processing necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests – platform security, fraud prevention, and aggregate analytics.
  • Legal obligation – compliance with applicable law.
  • Consent – for optional features, marketing communications, and non-essential cookies.

5. Data sharing and third parties

We share data only with:

  • Clerk, Inc. – identity and authentication management.
  • Stripe, Inc. – payment processing and subscription management.
  • PostHog, Inc. – product analytics (anonymised where possible).
  • Sentry – error monitoring (no user-identifying data in error payloads).
  • Infrastructure providers – cloud hosting used to operate the platform, subject to appropriate data-processing agreements.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records for up to 7 years).

Analytics data is retained in aggregate, anonymised form.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under the GDPR), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.

Some of our third-party processors (Clerk, Stripe, PostHog) are based in the United States. Data transfers outside the European Economic Area are made under Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards approved by the European Commission.

10. Children

Our service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us immediately at legal@eduventurespace.com.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the platform or sending an email before the changes take effect. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
